Next-To-Last Day

It’s my next to last day here at my first real job.
I’m excited. I don’t truly believe I’m meant to be torn up about it and truthfully, I’m not. I do, though, want to thank those reading this who have had any part in making the experience what it has been – challenging, a spectacular opportunity for personal growth, my first true chosen church “home”, and unabashedly wonderful. The Antlers – Bear

The Antlers put out my favorite album of 2009 and this song – it’s most immediately catchy track – ripped out my heart once I realized what the “Bear” was. Seriously, I nearly cried.
Well, the video’s here and it’s… disappointing. It seems to miss the entire point of the song to me – two frightened people making choices they’re not ready to make – in favor of… I don’t know. Thoughts?

So, with me moving churches and my production of worship videos taking a back seat to other endeavors, I wanted to make sure you were all set up for finding resources done by others who are doing the same work I have been doing. Everett Bowes is doing some great work and providing it all for free through Vimeo as well. I’m glad to be able to promote what he’s doing.

The Moment Factory

Was gonna try to put up a discourse on the debate in the church surrounding manufactured vs. real moments, but decided not to. This video is a completely manufactured moment that is just cool. Manufactured moments have their place.

Yeah, you know how you’re all listening to Dark Night of the Soul…
and then you go on to the interwebs to find a video of the music to post here so people will go and listen (or re-listen) to the album because it’s great and you’re searching for David Lynch on Vimeo because he collaborated on some of the best songs on that album and you find one of his shorts that you and your wife and a friend all watched one night when you were watching terrible things and you decide to post it – DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT WILL TRAUMATIZE YOU FOR THE DAY?
