Still not settled on either of these, maybe a third will be called for. I guess I’ll show it to my pastor and see.
Update: despite the overwhelming majority of suggestions leaning toward the black, we went with the red. It doesn’t “predefine the terms” as easily.
Zach, I prefer the left one, for what it’s worth. I think the right one is too busy, and there is some kind of disconnect where I can’t tell what the message is. I agree you might be better off with a third version. But with the first I can quickly understand the message.
Zach, I agree with Josh. While I really like the style of the one on the right, the message gets lost. It’s not something you can just glance at and get the message. It’s almost like you’re reading a eye-chart, not a fun experience for anyone.
The one on the left is clean, and it’s easy to understand the message quickly. I realize that graphically it’s not as exciting, but I think this is a case of simple being better.
Agreed.
I really like the one on the right, but it does take some intense looking. Maybe if the words were a little smaller or had more space between or something, so you could take in more at one time. It keeps the eyes too busy looking here and there. Smaller size would keep eye travel time down but you would still have to do some study to get the message out of it around the offset words.
I’m not a professional, but the one on the left, while beautiful and much easier to read and get the message, is mostly boring. I see it all right away, know immediately what it says, and go on my way without really thinking about it.
